New Disabled Veterans and Employers Resource
ETA is grateful for the service of our veterans as we soon celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday as a nation. This announcement highlights a new online resource educating disabled veterans and employers about workplace rights and responsibilities.
The agencies are seeking information to more effectively reach veterans in hopes of having a positive effect on the number of disability discrimination complaints filed by veterans with disabilities, and to ensure that all veterans understand their workplace rights and responsibilities to avoid job loss and other workplace hardships. Ideas and comments from this dialogue will be used to enhance the federal government’s outreach efforts to the employer community about their rights and responsibilities under federal employment laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), and how they can be enforced. Participants ideas and comments will be shared with policymakers to enhance employment opportunities for all veterans, including those with disabilities.
